The works on the Marbella sea promenade include waterproofing, crack repairs, marble polishing, installation of a new drainage and irrigation network, and improve lighting installations and energy efficiency. has begun works on Avenida del Mar, repairing disused fountains that have been causing leaks into the underground car park. The fountains will be converted into ornamental garden beds with decorative lighting, except the central fountain, which will be fully restored. The street lighting on the section of the promenade between Río Real and Río Verde – a total length of 9,540 metres – will be revamped and modernised. The implementation of the remote management system will allow the municipal technical services to have permanent information on the state of the lighting, detect incidents in real time, optimise operating hours and improve maintenance planning.
