Holy Week in Malaga came to a close this Easter Sunday. To mark the end of this important week, the procession of the Risen Christ and Our Lady of Heaven took to the streets from the Parish of San Julián. This procession brought to a close this period, which began on Palm Sunday, March 29th. For several days, the public filled the streets to closely follow the 45 brotherhoods and confraternities that participated in the processions. As always, thousands of people attended the events, both from near and far. Actor Antonio Banderas arrived at the Church of San Juan on Palm Sunday for the start of the procession and said that this tradition is deeply connected to his family, his friends, and his neighborhood. “Holy Week unites me with my land, my roots, my identity,” he stated to the media.
