The assembly of Marbella’s Christmas lights is under way, with the switch-on planned for the 30th of November. There will bea 20 metre tall walk-through artificial Christmas tree, and matching decorations along the Avenida del Mar.

The Kempinski hotel of Estepona has won Best Hotel in an event in Istanbul. The accolade was awarded by EURHODIP, an international association supporting hospitality and tourism worldwide. Kempinski Estepona was awarded the prize for the professional way it trains its students.

The Roman ruins around the Duquesa castle have listed status, and are made up of a burial place, a villa, baths, and salted fish factory. They date from the first to the fifth century AD. Tender requests will go out shortly for closing off the site and laying out walkways with information panels for visitors.

A new bridge of 145 metres is contracted to be added to the western part of the Estepona coastal pathway. The works, which will include drainage and lighting, are estimated to take 76 days.

Marbella’s bullring will reopen its door next summer after a comprehensive refurbishment currently under way. It is aimed at improving accessibility and safety, with a fire protection system and emergency lighting.The budget of the works is 1 million euros.
