Malaga will pilot test a driverless bus

The Avanza bus company will put into circulation in the coming months in Malaga the first autonomous urban passenger bus. The vehicle, which will also be electric, will circulate between the port of Malaga and the city center in order to transport passengers from cruise ships.

Fuengirola port will get improvements

Fuengirola council has announced that it has put out to tender the contract for a new design for the Puerto Deportivo marina. With a budget of 229,000 euros, the design project aims to increase the attractiveness of the Fuengirola marina, by better connecting it with the town.

Christmas tree from recycled materials in Castillo de la Duquesa

After weeks of work by local residents, the Christmas tree at the entrance of Castillo de la Duquesa is decorated with ornaments made from recycled materials. The Mayorhas thanked everyone involved in processing the plastic bottles in craft workshops, set up for the purpose.

New shopping and leisure centre in Estepona

The Boulevard project in the central area of San Lorenzo Avenue, has been issued to tender. In addition, there will be a separate underground parking and a new town hall bulding adjacent to the center.

Casares mountain race gets cycling sections

The Council for Sports of Casares has announced that their iconic Mountain Trekking Race of next April will get new sections for cycling through the town and mountains. New year’s eve celebrations with a difference in Coin

After the bells have rung in the new year, the streets fill with people in fancy dress, so the occassion seems more like a large carnival celebration. New state of the art supermarket in San Pedro

San Pedro has a new Mercadona supermarket in a state-of-the-art, energy efficient, extensive unit of 1800 square metres. An additional 20 staff have joined the existing 95 San Pedro employees.

Cleaning work on Marbella’s Piruli tower

The council of Marbella has started cleaning work on giving the Piruli lighthouse tower a special chemical treatment. The tower, that was created in 1992, contains copper and marble that reuire regular maintenance. Some of the copper panels have been lifted by strong winds and will be replaced.
